The program has 12 sessions. However participants are encouraged to run additional sessions

How much does it cost?


Nothing. The course is run by qualified volunteers from Howgill Harriers

Each session lasts about 45mins

At Kirkby Stephen they will held at the cricket club 9:00am every Sunday. First session begins 9th Jan 2016

At Sedbergh they will  be held at Settlebeck School playing fields 2:00pm every saturday. First session begins 10th Jan 2016

Age limit is over 12 years for unsupervised children. However, we encourage parents who participate to bring children of all ages who can join them provided they take full responsibility for their children’s welfare.




Unfortunately dogs are not allowed

What gear do I need?

Can I bring my dog?

A pair of comfortable running/training shoes along with a pair of tracksuit bottoms or similar. A tee shirt and a lightweight windproof jacket. Ladies may also want to consider a sports bra. Hats and gloves may be useful

What do the sessions involve?


A warm up followed by either a complete beginners programme (see training plan) OR a set loop at your own pace,then a cool down at the end

What if I miss a session?


Don’t worry we will advise you what to do via email before the next session.

Do I have to join the Howgill Harriers?

No. There is no obligation to join.

Who are Run England?

Run England is the official England Athletics recreational running project which aims to get the whole nation running.

Regardless of your age, fitness level, aspiration, background, or location you can be a part of Run England and benefit from being a part of England's running community. We are here to help and encourage more people to run, and to run more often.
